Duncan, BC - Dolores May Gamble

March 20, 1937 - June 6 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mom, Dolores May Gamble, after a long battle with dementia.

Del will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Victor, Doug, and Heather, as well as their families.

Del spent much of her life in Duncan and Honeymoon Bay. She was well known for her dedication to community events and volunteer service. After Dave and Del moved to Duncan, Mom took up golf and began volunteering at the Cowichan Golf Course, marking the beginning of many years of community involvement. She was a long-standing member of the Duncan Curling Club, where she served as Secretary-Treasurer for many years, helping to keep everything running smoothly. She concluded her volunteer service at March Meadows Golf Club, continuing her commitment to giving back to her community.

Family was at the heart of Del's life. She was an amazing Mom, Gramma, and GG, and hosting family dinners was her happy place. She spent countless hours baking, filling her legendary Christmas baking buckets with treats and creating sweet memories for those she loved. Mom also cherished the many friendships she built throughout the Cowichan Valley. Her warmth, generosity, and dedication to others will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Cairnsmore Place for the kindness, compassion, and loving care they provided over the past several years. Their support, guidance, and comfort during Del's final days meant so much to Del and her family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Del's memory may be made to the BC Dementia Care Providers Association.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held later this summer.
