Glen Robin Pope PhD Obituary
Victoria, BC - Glen Robin Pope, PhD, born in Victoria on August 18, 1936, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, at Saanich Peninsula Hospital.
He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Lynda; his daughters, Sara, Katharine, Glynis, and Kristen; and their spouses, Mary, Greg, Darryl, and Andrew. He also leaves his grandchildren, Roxy, Neil, Cameron, Willem, Gemma, Emma, Jonathan, and Christian.
Glen was a teacher, psychologist, sailor, farmer, and builder. He was a practical and creative man who could design, build, repair, or improve almost anything made from wood. He was always working on a project and turning ideas into reality..
He worked for many years as a teacher and counsellor in the Victoria School District. He cared deeply about his students and especially valued his role leading Warehouse School, an alternative school in the district. He always had a strong connection to the ocean and sailing. Farming remained close to his heart throughout his life, from his boyhood 4-H years to eventually owning and working on his own farm.
Above all, Glen was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a kind, gentle, and thoughtful man whose calm presence and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A family graveside service has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held this summer.
