Jean Elaine Charmley passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, at age 88. Born December 12, 1937, in Medicine Hat, she moved to Nanaimo, in the 1940s.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Jack (2016), Elaine is lovingly remembered by her daughter Kim (Bruce) Frith and son Kris (Valerie) Charmley. She was a proud grandmother to Stacey (Tyler) Caddell, Nicholas (Katie) Frith, Alisha (Camden) Wright, and Trevor (Chelsea) Charmley, and a great-grandmother to six.

She was predeceased by her parents, much loved sister Karen, brothers Peter and Scott, and is survived by brothers John and Dennis.

Elaine and Jack shared a lifelong love of boating, spending over 60 years cruising BC's coast and were honorary life members of Nanaimo Yacht Club. A dedicated member of Beta Sigma Phi, an avid sewer, and enjoyed playing duplicate bridge.

Elaine will be remembered for her warmth and kindness.

A celebration of life will be held June 8, 2026, at 1 PM at the Nanaimo Yacht Club
