HIGGINS, Robert Stanley "Bob"

June 6, 1943 - May 8, 2026

Robert Stanley Higgins, lovingly known as "Bob," passed away peacefully at Cowichan District Hospital on May 8, 2026, at the age of 82.

Born in Victoria BC, Bob was a master machinist whose talents, creativity, and hardworking nature carried through every aspect of his life. He was an avid member of vintage car clubs and found great joy in fabricating and restoring cars and motorcycles. Bob also loved the ocean and cherished time spent boating and enjoying the beauty of the coast.

Bob will be dearly missed by his wife Neeltje Pater of Crofton; his son Robert Charles Higgins; grandson Jesse Higgins-Haymond; stepson Martin Steenblok (Deb); stepdaughter Alice Van Ek (Mark); stepson Robert Steenblok (Liz Lowe); stepdaughter Christina Halcrow; and step-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Hilarie Anne Higgins.

Bob will be remembered for his craftsmanship, his love of classic vehicles and the water, and the quiet strength and kindness he shared with family and friends.
